Let me count the ways.

I love snow. I love the way it shines in the sun, the smell of the fresh air, and the cool breeze on my face. I love being in the mountains, and snow just adds to the beauty. Being from Arizona, I get to see the snow once in a blue moon. And every winter, I beg everyone I know, "Please, just take me to the snow." So, as break is wrapping up, my dear boyfriend fulfills yet another dream of mine, and takes me to a happy place.

Summerhaven is a small town on the top of Mt.Lemmon that my family and I used to visit all the time. We had a family cabin up there, but six years ago, a fire hit and burned down a significant part of the mountain, including our beloved cabin. Tyler and I drove around for quite some time, trying to find that piece of land that once included that cabin. A lot of the mountain is growing back to it's full beauty, but a huge part of it is still damaged from the fire. It is so sad, yet so evident that there is beauty everywhere. I really wanted to go back to that old cabin, and poor Tyler, we tried forever, bless his heart, but my memory with directions is not so good. Eventually, a precious old man directed us to a wonderful place to hike. So we surrendered, and boy, was I lucky we ran into him.

We walked for a while, in what I know to be a winter wonderland. Snow all around, trees, a creek, and my favorite boy. Between all that, the snowman, snowball fights, and ice skating down hills, my heart was overflowing with joy.

I praise God for his art work, in every rock, every snow flake, and everything else in this world.

23.

"This is the first year I really feel, old. Ya know, I'm getting old!"
My sister turned 23 yesterday. We had a lovely day getting our hair and nails done, shopping, and spending time with close friends. We also got to have a wonderful lunch at a restaurant in St.Philips Plaza. It is so beautiful, and a perfect place to get some good pictures of the birthday girl and her mama. :) My sister is such a blessing and I feel so lucky to be able to walk through life with her.

"She's such a big girl now!"

Happy birthday Steph!

Celebrations.

Good things happen when you least expect them. Somebody once told me things fall apart so they can fall back together. I still agree with that statement. Life took some unexpected turns and within a matter of 48 hours my sister and I, along with 4 of our friends, were off to Disneyland! It was such a wonderful time to be surrounded by wonderful, beautiful girls. I've never been to Disneyland at Christmastime, and it was so pretty.

I love Christmas, but I also love what comes after Christmas, New Year's! Four years ago we began having New Year's at my parent's house, and it is one of my favorite traditions yet. I also love it because although Tyler and I don't get to spend most holidays together, we always have New Year's eve. I can't imagine starting a new year any other way than with people I love most.

Our tradition of kissing the past year good bye, and welcoming the year to come:

HAPPY 2010!!!
